IMO MED & Wheelmark Certification – What does it mean?

IMO is an abbreviation for International Maritime Organization. This organisation monitors the international maritime shipping regulations. These regulations concern maritime safety, security, and protection of the environment. 170 countries belong to the IMO and it is part of the United Nations.

The IMO MED and Wheelmark is a quality management system which sets performance and testing standards for marine equipment placed on vessels sailing on international waters. The certification is recognized internationally and it remains valid for five years.
